We sell turkeys fresh the week of Thanksgiving to those who pre-order. Pre-ordering is happening now!
We offer fresh turkeys available for pick up on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (Nov 21 2017). Pick up time is from 5-7pm. Turkeys come ready for you to put in your oven, but do not include giblets because it’s too much for us to handle on slaughter day.
This year we are also offering ~20 frozen turkeys that will be available to be picked up 1-2 weeks before Thanksgiving. These are for people that cannot pick up their turkey the week of Thanksgiving and need to do it a bit earlier.
We raise our turkeys on the range. They live inside for the first several weeks of their lives until they are large enough to survive on their own. Then they live outdoors with our chickens – they have free choice non-GMO feed, and can eat fresh grass and bugs. We move them to fresh grass approximately every 10 days, so they never live on mud. They live a very low-stress life. All of these factors combine to give them a superior flavor. The cost is $4.50/lb.
The toms should be between 20-28 lbs. and the hens should be between 13- 20 lbs. Please consider using one of our larger frozen chickens if these sizes do not work for you.
We do not reserve sizes, or hen vs. tom. The turkeys are on a first come, first serve basis. In all the past 6 years that we have sold turkeys this way it has always worked out well – everyone got a turkey to their liking.
(Sorry, but we do not have space to freeze your turkey after Nov 21. If you would like a turkey for Christmas, please make accommodations in your home freezer, and plan to pick up a turkey in November.)
A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each bird reserved.
